RJM holds an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and a doctorate in Biological Sciences. He has been an active researcher of the biology of aging for more than ten years, focusing on the effects of antioxidant levels and free radical production ('oxidative stress') on the aging process of fruit flies. His published work includes 20 research and review articles on this topic. He is currently a full-time faculty member in a large research university in the United States.
