RICHARD M. SALSMAN

Richard M. Salsman is president and chief market strategist of InterMarket Forecasting, Inc. (IFI) in Chapel Hill, N.C. IFI provides quantitative research and forecasts to guide the asset allocation decisions of pension sponsors, mutual funds, banks, hedge funds and investment managers. Salsman has authored two books on free banking and the gold standard, plus six chapters in edited books and more than two dozen articles on topics including Federal Reserve policy, antitrust law, environmentalism, property rights, forecasting and the Great Depression. His taped lectures and courses cover such topics as the economics in "Atlas Shrugged," the Great Depression, antitrust, the philosophic foundations of economics, socialized medicine, the philosophy of the Austrian school of economics and the life and work of Jean-Baptiste Say. Salsman's work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, Forbes, Investor's Business Daily, The Economist, The New York Times and the National Post (Canada); he is also a frequent guest on Fox Television's "Your World With Neil Cavuto." Salsman received is B.A. in law and economics from Bowdoin College (1981) and his M.B.A. in economics from New York University (1988). He is currently pursuing his PhD in political economy at Duke University.
