Posted 28 Apr 2005 · Report post I have seldom been so moved by a story as by this one. Apart from the rational ideas which not only underly the work but are explicitly and beautifully expressed in it, the characters came alive and made me care deeply about them. The ending brought me to tears, and that's not something I'm willing to admit very often. Not only is it a wonderful depiction of the period for those with an interest in American history, this is a must read for anyone who cares about liberty, principle, integrity, and justice.Immediately upon completing the book, I sent similar comments to Mr. Cline, and received a very gracious reply. My impression is that the author is as noteworthy as the book.

He's been a friend of mine for many years and I've been very pleased to carry signed copies of all the Sparrowhawk titles. Sparrowhawk Book IV: Empire was just recently released.Fred Weisshttp://www.papertig.com/
