Cool photos of earth from space

Very cool. The pictures of the French countryside are typical: small fields in weird shapes & a variety of crops. The French government has always "protected" (i.e., sent taxpayer money to support) farmers' lifestyle here, and as much as I completely disagree with the policy from a philosophy standpoint, it makes for a lovely countryside.

The Real Cool thing is seeing how much photography of the ground of an altitude of over 250 miles has improved. When orbital flights first began there was very little indication of intelligent life on the ground during the daylight. Now one can see furrows in France in broad daylight.

Yes, thanks! Way cool, all of them. And yes, the resolution at magnification is amazing. Make you want to go outside and wave up.

The KeyHole class sattelites have such good cameras that people in the terrorist camps go undercover one our or spies in the sky are in range. Since the sats following a fixed orbit it is easy to know when the eye-spies in the sky are in peeking range.
