Yaron Brook on Glenn Beck's program

'Anyone see Yaron Brook on Glenn Beck's show this week? Terrific program!

And I was happy to hear Glenn Beck tell how many commentators said that Ayn Rand didn't "understand" socialism (or its end result, communism), even though she had grown up experiencing socialism through the Russian Revolution! I was thankful for that.

Beck talked a good deal about Atlas Shrugged, and a little about Anthem. Though I would like to have heard him talk about the root ideas (such as those in metaphysics, epistemology and ethics) behind collectivism versus individualism/capitalism expressed in those works, it was nice to hear so much attention paid to her writing and philosophy (even though the program also included discussion about other authors). And Professor Brook did bring up the fact that though Atlas Shrugged displays common sense about many things, more fundamentally it was about the ideas behind a common sense approach to things--that Atlas goes deeper.

Yes, I saw the program. I liked the fact that he repeatedly held up the Atlas Shrugged book and told his 2 million viewers to read it. I sent out an email alert a day in advance to my local Tea Party group to watch the show. Amazon reports sales of Atlas Shrugged increased.
