Oxford Unabridged

Hi Gang,

I'm not sure where to post this...

Does anyone have an opinion on how damaging the editing of the Oxford Unabridged Dictionary, which started in 1922, has been?

I ask because I’m torn between hunting down an old set and buying a copy of the tool-loaded CD-ROM edition.

Thank you for your time.

I would not hesitate to purchase the most current edition with all the bells and whistles. The great value in the OED lies beyond simply current usage definitions, but also in the etymology of words. As far as I know the research has only increased in this area, and the current edition benefits from that. Enjoy the modern world!
