Leroy Anderson: Piano Concerto (1953)

3 posts in this topic

Leroy Anderson, the prolific American composer of lighter orchestral music and a Boston Pops fixture for many decades, is perhaps best remembered for his Holiday-themed Sleigh Ride. Here is a piece that may be unfamiliar to many . . . from 1953, a brief and delightful Piano Concerto.

Enjoy!

I can't seem to get the opening tune of this piece out of my head . . . I've been walking around humming it for the last several days!

Yes, a very engaging tune! I'll be giving the whole work a full listening later. I have much new listening (yay!) to catch up on!
