Benjamin Britten completed his brief and charming "Simple Symphony" for string orchestra in 1934. This is a work that presents with the simple and cleanly transparent lines of neo-Classical style. To introduce the Simple Symphony, here are movements 1 and 2, otherwise titled "Boisterous Bourrée" and "Playful Pizzicato respectively:
