The 17 Year Old Strauss

Richard Strauss was all of 17 when he composed his lovely Serenade in E-flat for Wind Instruments (1881). Onstensibly a tribute to the classical lines and balance of Strauss' beloved Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven, it nonetheless sings with Strauss' own unique and easily recognizable voice.
