Summer Music, Part 5

1 post in this topic

More music for balmy Summer nights . . . here is the opening of John Carmichael's 1965 Concierto Folklorico for Piano and String Orchestra. Originally from Australia, Mr. Carmichael (b. 1930), now lives in England and is still very much active. Prior to his more-or-less permanent relocation to England, Mr. Carmichael spent much time in Spain where he was greatly involved in, among other things, music-making for Spanish dance companies. This music had a strong influence on his future compositions, many of which reflect the melodic and harmonic structures, rhythms and temperament of the Iberian peninsula.

For the complete Concerto . . . .

John Carmichael: Concierto Folklorico for Piano and String Orchestra (complete)

Enjoy!!
