I highly recommend this movie. I saw it on Netflix and was quite surprised that a movie from collectivistic Sweden could produce a movie with such an individualistic theme. Without giving away anything in the movie, the style reminded me of the Ibsen plays that are critical of the hypocrisy in the society in which people live. Being partial to music, I found the music and theme quite inspiring. The theme is set against a musical backdrop of a small town church singing group that can't harmonize and ends with a rousing rendition of Gabriella's Song.

So Paul: Would you say that As It is in Heaven is the anti-Ingmar Bergman movie from Sweden?? That would be nice!

Possibly. It is a large contrast with his style.
