I'm surprised to see some people saying they would never vote for Johnson. I understand people prefering to vote Romney, for value reasons or because he has the best chances of beating Obama, but I'm puzzled by the "I would NEVER vote of support Johnson".

Joss: re: Johnson, at this point I would probably never vote for him. First, he doesn't grasp what it takes to be President - he was downright indifferent during the primaries, which is why he was ignored. If somebody doesn't *want* that office they certainly aren't going to get it. Second, he's shown himself to either be too stupid, or more likely too short-sightedly petty, to do the right thing at this point, which is to drop out of the running so that he doesn't siphon votes from Romney in the most critical election in American history. Another four years of 0bama is effectively a death-blow to the country, from multiple probable angles (just keeping Bernanke as Fed chairman is enough all by itself, much less all of the other destruction 0bama will work to unleash.) He is either too dense to grasp that fact, or he does, and is still only concerned with "getting revenge" on the GOP for having supposedly ignored him (which was his own fault.)

From daily interactions with Dems and centrists, I don't see support for Obama wavering. Additionally, the numbers are on his side (cf Romney's 47%). There are simply too many people with too much to lose from a perceived more freedom oriented administration (although the President has precious little influence on the internal affairs of the USA, with the House and Senate, as well as the Federal civil servants, holding the power) for Obama not to win.

Which is a shame, because Romney put up a very good fight so far (especially in the debate) and I like him a lot more now than 6 months ago.

Voting for anybody NOT Romney at this point would be undesirable. The stakes are too high to "show the Republicans" with another 4% for a Libertarian, 4% less in the fight against the socialist candidate.
