He fails to understand much of anything, "literally" or otherwise. Those who exploit asparagus addiction as an excuse can be like that. I have never hired anyone to do my applied math, engineering and science for me, and never hired the equivalent of a robotic idiot savant to do anything. Obnoxious, repetitive irrelevancy and boasting while understanding nothing is not genius; it's subnormal but such creatures can have their use as a cog in the wheel if they are tolerable at all. Productivity and intelligence does not require pursuit of obnoxious behavior. "One percenters" like that can't and don't produce 50% of anything; they do what they're told in a cubicle, but he probably did more than the image he wants to project. You also evade that when saw your brain functioning and producing consciousness, you were viewing it with that consciousness which is the mind. The mind is your consciousness, and if you are aware you are conscious, then you are aware you have a mind. Go ahead and evade some more, but don't call yourself rational in this regard.
