"Is "King Kong" racist?"

is the first line of this Newsday article.

How low can these people go?

Funny that Pinkerton is a white guy complaining about racism in a movie that is could be classified as species-ist. Where are the animal right-ists complaining about killing a big loveable ape?

I think the movie really shows just how stupid apes are. We go and rescue them from a ferocious jungle, bring them back to civilization, and then the ape can't even show appreciation and goes bananas.

Too bad Kong didn't carry Pinkerton up the Empire State Building. At least he could claim the movie has some homosexual overtones and is redeemable on that basis.

It appears that they gave the ape human qualities such as consciousness. If this is what was implied, then the ape would have rights, within the limited context of the movie. So what the Humans would have been violating the rights of the ape :D
