"Search" feature change

It seems that the Search function does not allow to search words who are less than 4 letters long.

That's rather annoying , as I tried just now to search topics dealing with "Gun Control", and since gun is a 3 letter word ' The search did not work.

Can something be done about allowing words of less than 4 letters in the search function?

I find that annoying, too, sometimes. However in this particular case, if you put "gun control" in quotes, the search feature treats it as a single phrase of 11 letters, which gets past the 4-letter thing.
